SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH PARTY AT I BALZINI EN PRIMEUR VINTAGE 2007

The vintage 2007 will soon be on sale for I BALZINI White Label and I BALZINI Black Label. An important step for I BALZINI White Label 2007: the 20th vintage, the first one was on 1987. That year there were 5280 bottles produced and for Vincenzo, producing this wine was a satisfaction, with the help of Giulio Gambelli, " his wine", an elegant and smooth blend that has been offering a lot of satisfaction in these years. The 2007 vintage is outstanding, with Barbara Tamburini, excellent winemaker who works in a very attentive and meticulous way, we know that we have in our cellar a great vintage that honours really well the 20 years. In the kitchen Diana and Antonella will welcome the guests with their specialities and celebrate this important event

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME REST AND PREPARE OURSELVES FOR THE HARVEST

This summer is really hot, after a rainy spring and beginning of summer, suddenly a warmth that makes us think about an early harvest. We are going to have some rest, our offices will be closed from August 1st until August 22nd. However, there will always be someone in the cellar to check that all is fine, the constant temperatures and start preparing the most important moment: the harvest. Let the 2010 be a great vintage!

WHEN AGEING IS AN ADVANTAGE

Sometimes this statement may seem unpleasant, but for wine it is definitely a good thing: l BALZINI White Label vintage 2007 has twenty years. Thursday, July 22nd , the fantastic backdrop of St. Paul of the Cross, beautiful scenery and picturesque location on the hills above the Certosa, there is a nice evening with wine tasting, an open-air buffet and live music. For this initiative we decided to surprise the friends, anticipating of around 6 months the en primeur of the new vintage. I BALZINI traditionally presents the wine on the market in the fourth year from the harvest, this year the en primeur 2007, excellent vintage was made earlier for a reason of pride, as BALZINI White Label is the twentieth, for those who do not remember the first harvest was 87. During the evening you will also taste the BALZINI Black Label and Green Label, this will be served chilled to appreciate "its freshness." It can be served at temperatures of around 10-12 ° thanks to special vinification technics. For the operators the tasting will begin at 17.30, for the public we will start from 19.30.

I BALZINI HAS THE GREEN PEPPER
This year, the bad weather has been on and on, the temperatures have been lower than usual and respect to the medium trend of the last years, it is around 10 days behind ( but 15-20 years ago, it would have been the normal trend...). There has not been any phytosanitary issue in the vineyard. There has been a bit of hail but the vines had not been trimmed yet and there are no damages, the bunches have protected by the leaves. Hereunder a foto of our splendid Sangiovese in its phenophase called "green pepper
